Felt Like I Won The Lottery, Except Not In A Good Way

Ok so check this out.  I was in traffic for 1.5 hours.  My friends and I wanted to grab something to eat after Bible study.  We were on the road at 10:30pm.  Traffic was so bad that Google Maps showed red with black stripes.  Have you ever seen anything crazy like that?  Turns out there were many things in play: the highway on 495 went from 4 lanes to 1, not including 2 lanes that were merging in.  There was road work on an adjacent highway which also led to the major congestion.  And if that’s not all, my car started overheating because it was idling for so long.  It was almost past the H mark.  You know, there’s the C (cold) and H (HOT).  I had to the the best thing at the moment.  Leave my car on the highway.  Yeah it was actually pretty funny.  Good thing my friend was close-by.  Called him, told him the situation.  Ended riding with him the 1.5 hours.  Got out of my car, walked into  his in the middle of the highway.  Thanks Tom, appreciate it.

So we drive through the traffic until the next exit for 1.5 hours.  Definitely one of those “I hate DC” moments.  Wow.  Talk about major suckiness.  But still in good spirits.  Think it’s just funny now.  Good story to tell friends, kids later in life.
